I remember seeing N73544 at Camarillo in October of 1992, when I was a student at the Navy CEC Officer's school at Port Hueneme, and from the condition it was in at that point, I never expected to see it fly again. You folks have done a terrific job in getting it airborne again. Bravo Zulu !

Merci encore. M.L.

If any one is interested I have pictures of Navy wv-2 super connnies that I was a crewman on in the 50's. Flying out of Patuxent River Naval Air Test Center and deploying to Europe to provide Early Warning for the 6th Fleet.

As a former TWA employee at Geneva airport (1948 - 1952), my father, Arnold A. Matthey-de-l'Endroit, C.B.E. worked for several years with a Connie. He would very much like to establish contact with former colleagues and people who were also involved with a Connie at that period. Please send a message to the above email, I will transmit the messages to him. Thank you. I also would like to ask for an invitation for him (and my Mum) for May 2004, when the Connie will come to Geneva airport. Thank you again. Anne Matthey Ijeh

Dear Terry, I can imagine the feelings you have. I am an associate member of the SCFA project and one of the lucky future pilots of this wonderful aicraft. We have been working very hard for the past 4 yrs to make this dream come true. It is because of the hard work of the CHS team as well, that we will soon be able to see this fantastic Super Connie in Europe. You all deserve a lot of respect for this and we hope we will be able to pursue your commitments to keep the Queen of the Skies flying for many more years.

Aquiring the Camarillo Connie is great news for you, but sad news for the throngs that live in S. California. I'm a member of the CAF at Camarillo Airport and will miss seeing this beautiful bird. Terry McArthur

it was this machine that at age '4', watching it start up and belch fire and smoke and roar to life at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas in the late 50's, that made me decide to fly airplanes. These SuperConnies will always hold a special place inside me and they will always elicit a quickened pulse and an imagination of flights yet to be...
